Check of a condition of protective covers of power shafts

1 Protective covers of power shafts are very important elements since they protect hinges of equal angular speeds (SHRUS) from hit on them a dirt, water and other extraneous subjects causing damages. External pollution of protective covers by oil and greasings can lead to premature failure of a material of covers, therefore it is recommended to wash periodically covers with water with soap.


2 Examine covers on presence of ruptures and cracks, and also the weakened collars. In case of detection of signs of cracks or leak of greasing the cover should be replaced (address to an illustration).

At the same time check up the general condition of hinges of equal angular speeds, holding a shaft and simultaneously trying to turn a wheel. Repeat attempt, holding the internal hinge of equal angular speeds and turning a shaft. Any appreciable люфт specifies in deterioration of the hinge, deterioration in grooves of a shaft or отворачивание a lock nut of a shaft.
